On the southern side of the island, basically running east/west, is Tybrisa Street, (formally 16th street); and it is considered the downtown district of Tybee Island. One of the most recognized structures on Tybee Island is the Tybee Island Fishing Pier & Pavilion. 

The pier & pavilion are a popular day destination for their walk out over the water and great fishing access. Frequently there are public music events and gatherings hosted at the pavilion, or you can even rent it for your own private function. Tybee Island Transportation, Beach Gear, & Golf Carts

Tybee Island is a pedestrian, bike, & even golf cart-friendly town that encourages guests to ditch the car at your vacation rental and travel beach-style throughout the island. 

No bike, no problem, rent a bike from Tims Beach Gear located downtown.

Another great way to get around is to rent a golf cart. The town of Tybee moderates rules & regulations for golf carts and these periodically adjust, so we always recommend checking out the city site first, but traveling by golf cart can often help transportation & parking in our small downtown Tybee area. Don't want to hassle with a car, bike, or cart? Walk to your destination! Since all of Tybee is only 2.5 miles long and .75 miles wide it doesn't take much to walk anywhere you could want to go. Or walk somewhere, then return by shuttle utilizing our local Tybee Turtle Transit. It is a fun, safe, reliable, and super convenient transportation option for anyone.
